Blue skidoo, you can too! My daughter and I skidooed right into a zoom interview with the new host of Blue’s Clues & You! We had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Josh Dela Cruz, the live action host of Blue’s Clues & You! He shared all about his fun hosting gig, his inspiration, and his real life dog who goes to work with him.

About Josh
Josh Dela Cruz stars as Josh, the host of Nickelodeon’s Blue’s Clues & You! who has a whole new generation of preschoolers searching for clues with beloved energetic girl puppy Blue. Blue’s Clues & You! marks Dela Cruz’s debut as a television series regular. He has fond childhood memories of watching the original Blue’s Clues with his younger sister and cites the show as his catalyst to becoming an actor.
A powerhouse triple threat, Dela Cruz recently appeared in Disney’s Broadway production of Aladdin as the understudy for Aladdin and as a member of the ensemble. Other notable theatre credits include David Byrne’s Here Lies Love, under the direction of Alex Timbers, at the prestigious Public Theatre and Merrily We Roll Along at New York City Center Encores! He has also appeared in CBS’ Bull and ABC’s Time After Time.
I really loved how Josh shared about his inspiration, Mr.Rogers. After watching the Mr.Rogers documentary, Josh realized Blue’s Clues & You! was definitely the right fit for him. He watched Mr.Rogers as a young child, and hopes to provide a similar type of entertainment. You can tell he cares so much about providing wholesome entertainment to audiences around the world. It really shows through his smile and genuine excitement on camera. When I first watched the show, my face lit up. Josh is so warm and friendly, he makes kids feel right at home. I think he makes a wonderful new friend to Blue and the gang! My daughter thought it was so special he gets to bring his own dog, Ollie, to work with him 🙂 Blue’s Clues and You! has the characters we all know and love, problem solving skills, imagination exploration, and great music. I think both parents and kids will enjoy this special show together for many years to come.
