The Lion King has taught us all many important life lessons. It was through this movie I learned about the circle of life, loyalty, heartbreak, sacrifice, betrayal and friendship. The highly anticipated live action movie explores these same lessons in a breathtaking from. The movie itself has the story line you know and love and I think it brought the fans both old and new something we can all agree on, happiness!
The live action movie of The Lion King sticks to the original plot, with some new verbiage, modern twists and new original dialogue, all while keeping the original elements we all love in tact. All the songs are there plus an incredible beautiful new one called Spirit by Beyonce. My daughter and I sang along to all of the songs, we wiped tears when Mufasa died, and we laughed almost every moment Timon and Pumbaa were on screen. The cast consists of the brilliant Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon.
I really did love the movie. The technology is so impressive, you can see the joy, and the hurt the animal experiences so vividly. It makes for a really neat visual experience, I would heed a warning to those with sensitive kids. If your child is sensitive to death or animals, this live action version makes these scenes all the more real. Though my child experienced many emotions during the movie, she knew the story and what to expect so it wasn’t damaging to her. If your child is not a fan of the original due to these matters, due them a favor and wait for the home release.
The technology, story telling, and casting in The Lion King is just superb! I am over the moon for Seth Rogan and Billy Eichner. They are the best duo to play the beloved Timon and Pumbaa and brought the energy to the film. I loved hearing my favorite songs as well as the new one, Spirit! As a 90’s kid, I am so here for these live action movies of my favorite Disney classics and The Lion King was no exception!
