Our family, as others say, is an adventurous one! We love going on day trips, familiar favorite spots, and of course, exploring new ones! This year we made the decision to get Gold Season Passes to Virginia’s premiere amusement part, Kings Dominion. It made the most sense for us to purchase the gold pass since we know we would want to come back again and again.

DIY Post-it Stand
This month at our MOPS meeting we made the cutest little note stands. They are so easy, cheap and versatile, you need one in your house and office! The idea is simple. We all need notes at any given moment, yet can never seem to find those sticky notes at that exact second in time. Having a decorative stand or two around will solve that problem.
Elleda Skincare ~ Vitamin C Serum
Over the past weeks, I have been using Vitamin C in my daily skin care routine, and I have noticed great results! My skin can always use a little more moisture and who doesn’t need some more Vitamin C? I was looking forward to trying out Elleda’s Organic Vitamin C 20% Serum Formula from Elleda Skincare, and it didn’t disappoint! Playground Truths {By Guest Blogger Kate}
The other day after school, I told the boys we could stay at the playground for a little while. My three year-old, Jude, had brought his basketball and my six year-old, Daniel, had recently mastered the monkey bars and wanted to show off his new skills. As we rounded the corner of the building and glimpsed the playground, we realized there must have been some sort of after-school program going on; the place was swarming with kids. My first thought was, “Oh man, we should probably just go home. Look at ALL of these people.”
The Courage to be Intentional
This was the topic we discussed at this month’s MOPS meeting. It definitely struck a chord with me. Being intentional seems pretty simple, but I have such a hard time actually putting it into practice. As I thought more about the why behind my difficulty, I realized one big reason was that I am not very good about setting achievable goals. I heard two wonderful and practical words of wisdom that day. The first was to set aside fifteen minutes of time each day to focus on something you intend to do. The item of focus can change, like menu… Read More

Traveling With Kids aka “A Test On Patience”
As I prepared for our 8 day trip, the part I spent the most time planning, was the drive itself. Do I have everything I need for a peaceful, relaxing drive? Do I have the snacks, videos, treats, activity pads, wipes, more treats, more wipes, and headphones? Yes, that’s a list of my “must haves” x3! It always feels overwhelming to prepare for, but really, that’s just a portion of our 8 day vacation! Moms have their work cut out for them when it comes to planning a trip! I hear it over and over: “I need a vacation from… Read More

Facing Your Mom Fears
As I prepared for an upcoming MOPS meeting on this topic, I couldn’t help but think, am I really facing my mom fears? I know that’s a big, general question. It can have a plethora of answers, excuses and reasonings. If I were honest with myself, on a day to day basis I would have to say no. I am not entering boldly into conversations with others. I do not always stick to my guns when giving a mom-dreaded consequence, like no t.v. time. I do not always answer my friend’s truthfully when they ask how I’m doing. Like most… Read More
