Cinnamon Fire Nation Flame Suckers

We are celebrating Avatar Adversaries with these sweet and spicy Cinnamon Fire Nation Flame Suckers. These treats are inspired by the Fire Nation Adversaries. The Fire Nation is one of the Avatar world’s four nations and five sovereign states. It is an absolute monarchy led by the Fire Lord and home to most firebenders.

We got to enjoy a fun Avatar themed game night in with these spicy treats and a cool game from Box Lunch! Avatar: The Last Airbender Uncle Iroh’s Dream Board Game is a neat card game where you can create your own Avatar stories.

In Uncle Iroh’s Dream, follow the wise firebender’s sage advice and craft your own cartoon stories using characters, locations, events, animals, and special item cards! Save your favorite written stories as mementos and use the White Lotus tile, Avatar state and Appa tokens to make your story more unique!

Make your own Cinnamon Fire Nation Flame Suckers!

Ingredients:

2 C isomalt crystals
1/2 C distilled water
2 drops cinnamon oil
2 drops red, orange, yellow food coloring
Toothpicks
Lolipop sticks

Directions:

Prepare the isomalt crystals first
Add the water and isomalt crystals to a small saucepan, boil until 330 degrees
Pour onto a silpat mat on a pan and let cool until hard to the touch
Once completely hardened, break apart
Preheat the oven to 320
In three bowls separate the broken cooked isomalt
Set the bowls in the oven, allowing for the isomalt to remelt
Take out one bowl at a time to add in a drop of cinnamon and the coloring
On a silpat mat pour a spoonful of the red, then orange then yellow on top of the sticks, they will begin to harden.
Place them BACK in the oven for 2-3 mins.
The blobs will melt and spread out.
Pull them out and using a toothpick drag the colors together and create the flame shapes you desire.
Once you allow them to set and slightly cool, you can pick them up to pull and twist into place.
