We are celebrating everyone’s favorite puppy…Blue! Blue’s Clues is turning 25 and that is cause for celebration! I had the wonderful opportunity to sit down with the show creators, powerhouse duo of children’s programming, Angela Santomero & Traci Paige Johnson. We chatted all things Blue’s Clues, parenting, and more!
Angela Santomero is a writer and producer, known for Blue’s Clues (1996), Blue’s Clues & You (2019) and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. Her mission is to empower kids and make them smile. Traci Paige Johnson is an actress and producer, known for Blue’s Clues (1996), Blue’s Clues & You (2019) and Blue’s ABC Time (1998). Fun fact, Traci provides the voice of Blue!
Interview with the Creators of Blue’s Clues
It is evident that Blue’s Clues has been able to enter our homes and hearts because of the power this puppy and her host have to connect with children. It’s not just a tv show, or a learning program, there is a real connection that happens between the viewers and Blue, Steve, Joe and now Josh! It is so very powerful for kids to feel seen, heard, and equipped. Both creators reference their own personal love for Mr. Rogers, and the secret sauce of acknowledging the viewer, and the special moments of pausing. I think we can all say that Blue holds a special place in our hearts and she is ready to share that with a new generation!

You Can’t Spell Blue Without U” featuring all 3 hosts: Steve, Joe and Josh
A special message from Steve, the original host of Blue’s Clues. The show creators shared that this was all Steve’s idea and it was an important message he wanted to share with his original fans. This had me in tears. So heartfelt. Here’s to many more adventures with Blue and her friends!
