Ant-Man and the Wasp is a hilarious, action packed follow up to 2015’s Ant-Man. I was eager to see this sequel since I loved the first one so much. I was also totally pumped to see Evangeline Lilly as the Wasp! Ant-Man and the Wasp is the summer hit you will want to see! Hear me when I say… STAY THROUGH THE CREDITS! Mid credits to be exact 🙂 You don’t want to miss the jaw dropping ending!
In Ant-Man and the Wasp, we get to see what happened in the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War. Scott Lang is left to deal with the consequences of his choices, and finds himself under house arrest. Yes, there are some major cons to being under constant surveillance, but that doesn’t stop Scott from being a great Father! One of my favorite scenes is the opening of the film where we get to see just how Scott keeps his daughter entertained!
Once Scott connects with Dr. Hank Pym and Hope again, he is quickly involved in helping his old acquaintances with an urgent new mission. I love the chemistry between Scott and Hope, and all of their digs toward one another. It makes for some hilarious sarcastic comedy. Of course, they make an incredible super team when they suit up and work together as the Ant-Man and the Wasp!
Now I couldn’t mention how funny this movie is without the fantastic sidekick Luis, played by Michael Peña. Oh my goodness all of his interactions had me in stitches. If I had to pick a favorite Luis scene, it would be when he rides shotgun with the Wasp and he gets to shrink too! So funny!
It is not all fun and games though. This crew is on a dangerous mission to possibly open a tunnel to the Quantum Realm, but not without a little interference from a “Ghost.” There is a ton of action scenes, car chases, close calls, and plenty of laughter strung throughout. I got to screen Ant-Man and the Wasp In IMAX 3D, and it was epic. A must for all Marvel movies in my opinion.
The movie has a running time of 125 min. I would recommend this movie for kids ages 10 and up, at parental discretion for mild language and intense plot moments.
