Are you ready for it? That was the question I asked my daughter, the biggest Taylor Swift fan, a few days before Taylor came to FedEx Field with her Reputation Stadium Tour. It was such a big surprise for her, and I have to say I was excited for the show, too! We got our shirts, made our posters, and we were officially ready to see Swift in person!
The hype was strong when entering the field. It was full of people just as excited as we were to see Taylor. We were waiting in anticipation for what we thought was going to be a really awesome show. To say we were blown away would be an understatement! As crowds gathered and awaited the songstress, we were treated to behind the scenes clips from Taylor’s music videos and concert prep. It was really cool to see Taylor give input in these roles. To set the final scene before Taylor, we hear Joan Jet’s “Reputation.” I love how thought out every aspect of this tour is. Totally cool! Finally, as Taylor came on stage, surrounded by smoke, I knew we were about to witness something special. Song after song, she delivered a dazzling experience for her fans. Something that blew me away was the stories each song told, and how each song was played out on stage with the corresponding props, costumes, and dancers. The showmanship that Taylor Swift and her crew have is undeniable. They know what their fans want before they even ask for it. The Reputation Stadium Tour was here to impress, intrigue, and inspire! Playing at least one song from each album, all but one song from Reputation, and a surprise song each night, fans are sure to hear all of their favorites!

When you arrive at the stadium, each guest receives a bracelet that is activated when the show starts. It glows different colors and makes beautiful patterns throughout the stadium throughout the night. Taylor herself said this was a way she could “see each one of you.” Just another way her concert experience is about the fans and making the most of it. The show has fireworks, flames, and impressive theatrics on the screens. There was never a dull moment. I absolutely loved the outfit changes as well. My favorite had to have been the “End Game” outfit that looked to be a robe a boxer would wear before entering the ring, drenched in gold glitter. So on point, so Taylor. It was really fun when Taylor brought out her opening acts, Charli XCX and Camila Cabello to sing Shake It Off with her. You could tell Taylor is like a big sister to them, and they had a blast on stage together. Even when Taylor strips down the music to just her guitar for an intimate set, she held the stadium in her hand. I loved these tender moments and listening to the advice or stories Taylor chose to share. During each stop of her Reputation Tour, Swift pauses for a minute to encourage fans. I love this side of her. She wants them all to know that their reputation doesn’t have to be what others think or how others view you, but the opposite. Your reputation can be whatever you want it to be. You are in control of that narrative. As a mom of a young teenager, I love that she takes a minute to address this. I love how soft spoken and yet strong Taylor is. How entertaining and captivating both her music and her message is to fans around the world.
As a mom watching this concert with my young daughter, who is a big Taylor Swift fan, and is also following her singer/songwriter dreams, I wanted to say thank you to Taylor for inspiring girls around the world. I do not think their is a bad seat in the house. The way the stage is designed, Taylor moves around a lot, and she also does a set on two stages to the far corners of the stadium, as well as floats across her fans at two points during the show. The show ends with a bang, literally, their are fireworks and “Reputation” confetti.
