Let it go! Let it go! Can’t hold it back anymore! That is what the entire stadium was singing in unison last night as we attended opening night of Disney On Ice presents Frozen! My family and I enjoyed a night out to the Capital One Arena to help welcome our favorite royal sisters to DC! We were excited to see Frozen take the ice and the show did not disappoint!
Before the show began, we had a blast at the media party. We had heart shaped food, the girls got their faces painted, and we enjoyed blue hot chocolate! Yummy! We even got to say hi to Mickey before he put his skates on.
Mickey, Minnie, and a few others with your favorite Disney Princesses, Buzz, Woody, & even Dory open the show with a fun number about love and friendship! My girls excitedly waved to Snow White and Cinderella, and jumped for joy when Ariel swam by. Even for just one song it was so fun to see some of our favorites! Following the upbeat opening number you are then transported to Arendelle, where the story begins with two little fun loving sisters who just want to play in the snow together! Yes, that’s right with Disney On Ice presents Frozen you get to see the whole story unfold on the ice! Each scene is brought to life with beautiful scenery, stunning displays, and of course all of the Frozen characters you want to see! A few of my favorite parts were the Ice Palace that Elsa builds, complete with hanging icicles, fireworks, and one fabulous skating solo. I also loved when Olaf shares his love for what he thinks life during the summer time would be like! This number includes dancing butterflies, beach balls, and birds in sunglasses… so much fun! It was amazing to see Kristoff’s troll family on the ice; all of them! Fixer Upper was amazing on ice! We clapped, danced and sang every single song! If you have a Frozen fan, you have to see this show!
You can see the show at the Capital One Arena, formerly known as Verizon Center, 601 F St NW, Washington, DC 20004.

The show is 2 hrs with a 15 minute intermission. There are some spark displays, blackouts, and a big abominal snowman. If your child has seen the movie, I think they would love the show and know the nature of what to expect. Be sure to bring your glow sticks and come dressed in your princess best!
