There is nothing I love more than getting cozy and pressing play on a Christmas movie. I think A Christmas Story is on everyone’s favorite holiday classics lists. I was so excited to hear we get to visit these characters again as A Christmas Story Christmas was announced. This is a sequel to the classic film. We get to see Ralphie visit his home and friends as an adult in the 70’s. This film is full of nostalgia and heart. I loved being able to chat with Peter Billingsley about the legacy and meaning of both films.
Ralphie is all grown up in this sequel to the annual holiday favorite in which he must deal with Christmas and all that comes with it, this time as a dad. Peter Billingsley returns to the role that has made kids of all ages anticipate Christmas morning like no other.
In A Christmas Story we see the story through the child’s eyes. The Christmas wish, the excitement, the desire. In A Christmas Story Christmas we get to see Christmas through the eyes of the parent. We see the pressure of wanting to pull off the perfect Christmas. This movie is full of amazing throwbacks and nods to the original holiday classic. Yes, the bunny suit makes an appearance, but don’t blink! Peter shared both movies have the reoccurring themes of learning to appreciate what you have, family and realizing the gift of time spent together is the best gift of all! Watch my interview below!
