DIY Wilderness Explorer Adventure!

My kids love to explore, do yours? When we packed up and headed to the Smoky Mountains last week, I knew they would love to explore during our many outdoor adventures!

What better way to celebrate our mountain adventures than to have our own Wilderness Explorer Party!? With a little help from Oriental Trading, I was able to make these adorable and completely customizable Explorer bags! These were so easy to assemble and there are limitless possibilities when it comes to customizing these fun bags and their supplies.

Make Your Own Wilderness Explorer Bags

Suggested Supplies ~ Messenger Bags, Binoculars, Compass, Magnifying Glass, Nature Journals, Bug Stickers, Nets or small containers to collect items in. These items all came form Oriental Trading. They made for perfect Wilderness Explorer bags! They were durable, colorful, and very useful during our hikes!

How To Customize

I kept this part simple, but of course you can get as elaborate as you’d like. For the bags, I put each child’s first initial. For the journals, I used a sharpie to write their names. I love that Oriental Trading has similar colors in supplies so that you can color coordinate items as well.

*Go on a hike! If you do not have access to a National Park, head to a local forest area or nature park.

*A scavenger hunt seems appropriate when in nature. Print off a list and give one to each child.

*Collection show and tell. Have kids collect different bugs, rocks, leafs, and show them to each other after your nature walk.

Trail mix galore! This is such a crowd pleaser, and you can add in whatever your crowd likes the most. Beef Jerky or Pepperoni Sticks make for a great protein packed snack when on the go. Granola Bars and Fruit Leather are also favorites for our outdoor adventures!

Start planning your outdoor adventure your kids are sure to love! My kids and my nephews had the best time exploring and soaking up all that nature has to offer 🙂 You can get these supplies and many others like them, here!

I received free product in exchange for my review. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
