It’s the most wonderful time of the year! One of our favorite Christmas traditions is taking time to chat with the man in the big red suit! That’s right, I am talking about the one and only… Santa Claus! My kids love sitting on Santa’s lap and sharing giggles and Christmas wishes with him. This year we visited Santa at Tysons Corner Center and had a blast at the Santa HQ presented by HGTV!
Santa is all about the experience, and this year Tysons Corner Center is again partnering with HGTV to present the incomparable, immersive “Santa HQ.” Families are invited to explore the wonder of Santa in the digital age. Exciting interactive technology transforms and customizes the experience. My kids ages 7, 12, and 14 loved this fun and interactive experience! Instead of waiting in a long line, being totally bored, we got to play and be a part of the Elf Academy!
HGTV Santa HQ guests can customize their individual experience by using augmented reality to view the new Elf Academy in magical ways. New this year, visitors can use the workshop’s Magic Mirror to transform into one of Santa’s elves. Guests can virtually change their elf’s outfits, create customized Elf Academy ID collector cards at the Elf ID station, explore Santa’s Observatory using ELF-RAY Vision and test out the Naughty O’ Nice Meter. Families can continue their adventure with a custom photo opportunity and an in-person visit with Santa inside his modernized sleigh. My kids loved seeing their names pop up on the nice list!

Shoppers are invited to bring an unwrapped toy and participate in our ‘Help Through Holiday Giving’ toy drive benefiting Second Story (formerly Alternative House). Tysons Corner Center hopes to collect and donate 1,000 toys this holiday season.
