It is so good to welcome back my favorite video game characters, Ralph and Vanellope to the big screen! In the sequel to Wreck It Ralph, Ralph Breaks The Internet delivers the laughs, a sweet message, and a fun time at the movies! This is the perfect family movie to see over the holiday weekend.
In Ralph Breaks the Internet, Ralph and his BFF, Vanellope von Schweetz leave the arcade they call home in search of something new and exciting. Ralph loves his routine the two have, but Vanellope is growing tired and antsy doing the same thing day in and day out. When they are faced with losing the Sugar Rush game, they are forced to look for a creative solution to solve this big problem. Where do we all go for help when we don’t know the answer or if we are looking for something? The Internet, of course!
This is a big scary, exciting, unknown world to both Ralph and Vanellope. So naturally, chaos and craziness ensues as these two search for the part they need to fix the Sugar Rush game. The dynamic duo end up at “BuzzTube” and, with the help of the head of algorithm and trend setting Queen, voiced by f Taraji P. Henson, Ralph goes viral! These viral videos of Ralph are some of my favorite parts of the movie. My kids were rolling with laughter in their seats.
Meanwhile, Vanellope finds a new friend and a place where she feels like she belongs in a new auto-racing game called Slaughter Race. Here she meets Shank, voiced by Gal Gadot. All of a sudden Vanellope feels at home, and Ralph worries he may lose the only friend he’s ever had. My heart certainly goes out to both of them. I am all about living your best life, but surely this isn’t the end of such a special friendship!
The two have an unbreakable bond, and their friendship grows through their crazy internet heist. There are many silly moments in this movie that are sure to have you laughing out loud. One of the highly anticipated scenes is when Vanellope comes across the Princess dressing room, and she interacts with them on their “break.” This was so much fun to watch! Of course, the princesses had great advice to give their new friend.
