As the Christmas Season is almost upon us, that means it is time to think about Christmas traditions. In our house we have many traditions that we hold near and dear. We love to bake and decorate cookies. We love to read Christmas stories. We love to do an advent reading and calendar, too! There are so many special and memorable ways to make traditions with your family. How about a new, fun, continuous tradition that you can have and even pass down to your kids?
Begin an ADVENture with The Traveling Wise Men. This is a telling of the three wise men traveling to see the new born King. This book is written by a dear find of mine, Chelsea Wojcik. Chelsea wanted a way to make the story of Christ’s birth the daily focus of the Christmas season. She began writing The Traveling Wise Men in 2012 while trying to establish her own Christmas traditions. Soon, The Traveling Wise Men became a whole family project!
It is easy to begin your own ADENTure with your family. Buy your book and find a nativity set. Any nativity sets works- wooden, plastic, whatever you have. Just make sure you have the STAR players! Then be sure to read your book with your children so that they understand the amazing story of Christ’s birth and who the Traveling Wise Men are. Let the ADVENTures begin! Use your own Wise Men to create fun in your home. If you need ideas, check out these Wise Ideas. Your children will take delight in each morning’s discovery of where the Wise Men have traveled on their way to celebrate the birth of King Jesus!
I loved following Chelsea and her family’s fun ADENTures with their traveling Wise Men. You can be as fun, creative, or silly as you want to be. The whole concept is to get the kids engaged and interested in this story and the true meaning of Christmas!
