My family and I had the opportunity to visit Virginia Beach last month. It was beautiful going off season and enjoying some cooler weather while at the beach. Of course, there are plenty of places to stay when visiting Virginia Beach, but hear me when I say staying at the Founders Inn & Spa is a must while in the area!
First of all, the location is nice because it is close to the highway, beach, fast food, and nice restaurants. The property is breathtakingly beautiful. With an indoor/outdoor pool, award winning dining & spa… this is a relaxing and very enjoyable place to stay while in Virginia Beach.
The Founders Inn and Spa‘s name comes from the Founding Fathers who drafted the Constitution in 1787. The resort, located in Virginia Beach, features captivating Grand Georgian architecture. Renowned art and antiques adorn the property, including noteworthy period furnishings.
Guests experience the intimate hospitality of a country inn, outstanding recreational amenities, as well as a technologically superior conference and meeting space. Whether for a getaway, corporate meeting or a romantic wedding in the English gardens, The Founders Inn and Spa hotel in Virginia Beach offers a luxurious atmosphere in a relaxing setting. Nearby, tour the nation’s largest naval base, as well as the Colonial towns of Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown.
As a family of five, we enjoyed a Parlor Suite, as it had one king bed, a pull out couch, and plenty of room for a roll away bed. It also had two full bathrooms and two TV’s. Our family of five was very comfortable and had plenty of space. Of course, the kids wanted to jump right in the pool as soon as we got there. I love that it is indoor/outdoor. We swam in both. The kids loved going down the outdoor waterslide, and I loved lounging in the indoor jacuzzi 🙂
After a cozy night’s rest, we enjoyed coffee from the coffee shop located in the lobby and walked the property. Such beautiful landscaping, flowers, fountains, and rocking chairs to enjoy the view around you. We loved exploring the gorgeous outdoors. There are even horseshoe and corn hole games set up on the lawn for guest enjoyment. We also had the pleasure of meeting the resident swan! My husband and I drank our coffee while the kids played a few games. We could have stayed here for a long time!
Lastly, it was off to make our brunch reservations as the Swan Terrace Grill. Did I mention award winning dining? I was very excited to see what this amazing brunch was all about. Let me tell you, the Swan Terrace Grill lived up to its expectation. The food was delicious and plentiful! Breakfast, lunch, seafood, dessert, they had it all! I tried many of the items available just to say I did. There was a crab cake station where chefs were making the crab cakes right there. Talk about fresh! All of the employees were very polite and welcoming, our glasses remained full the entire time, and the kids loved the make-your-own sundaes! Even if you are not staying at the property, you need to visit the Swan Terrace Grill for brunch. I highly recommend it.
Yes, the Founders Inn & Spa made for a fantastic family getaway, but it would make for a very romantic getaway, too! The Spa will transport you to a distant, personal escape inspired by the elegant beauty of The Founders Inn and Spa resort and the time-honored rejuvenation and relaxation technique. The resort’s spa is a favorite choice of hotel guests and Virginia Beach residents. We did not visit the spa this time around, but would love to another time.
Fun, relaxation, a great meal, whatever you are looking for, The Founders Inn & Spa is a hot spot destination in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area.
