My family and I have been going to the Gaylord National Harbor since it opened. It has become on of our favorite family spots for dinner, stay-cations, a day out and everything in between. We have made countless special memories there. My kids literally jumped for joy when I surprised them with a evening visit at the resort. We got to check out their Summer of More offerings and it was a blast! More fun. More family time. More indulgence. More memories to make!

Celebrate summer with events for the whole family at Gaylord National including sunrise yoga, laser light shows, campfires, and more! For a limited time enjoy the pop-up 80’s themed rooftop bar featuring over-the-top milkshakes, insta-worthy environments, retro arcade games, and the best views of the Harbor! Top 5 Summer Activities at the Gaylord National Harbor

Wildlife Rescue – An Augmented Reality Experience

Our iconic 19-story atrium roars to life in this virtual experience that takes guests on safari to find and help protect animals, including some local ones. With the magic of augmented reality, they are brought to life right before your eyes! My daughter was obsessed with this! We downloaded the app and off we went exploring. She loved taking pics next to animals and seeing how they interacted. A big hit for all of my kids.

Potomac Lights

Visible from Pose Rooftop Lounge, the garden atrium, and the Riverfront Plaza, the new self-guided walking tour will feature illuminated walk-through displays and twinkling lights along the Potomac River. This was so pretty at night. We walked and danced our way through as music was playing. The lights looked glorious from the rooftop, but I would definitely recommend a walkthrough.

Tall Tales and Tunes

Enjoy some of the classic tales about our historic past. Sing along with some of America’s classics like Sweet Caroline, Country Roads, America the Beautiful and more! This brought us lots of laughter as listened to the silly tales. The kids danced and we all sang along. A nice break in the evening and a good way to kick back and relax. Plus, the duo was extremely talented. I wish it was longer!

Summer Lights Laser Show

The nightly Summer Lights Laser Show takes place in the 19-story garden atrium and incorporates music, digital graphics, dancing water and lights in a perfectly choreographed display of sight and sound. The laser shows are always a hit. Set to fun music, it creates a neat show. We enjoyed watching from the second level bar area.

Replay at Pose Rooftop

This limited-time 80’s pop-up rooftop lounge is a fun family experience by day and an adult hot spot by night. Stop by for over-the-top milkshakes, boozy beverages, retro arcade games, and spectacular views. This was the highlight of the evening. The kids were convinced we time travelled. It was so totally rad to see so many 80’s items, games and the tasty movie themed drinks. We all enjoyed the ridiculous milkshakes, big enough to share and the cool arcade games. My girls were soaking up all of the fun photo opportunities. The balcony views were just sunning! We could have spent all night here. My kids were living their best lives, and so were us parents. While they sipped on the milkshakes we tried a Fruity Pebbles drink. It tasted exactly like the Fruity Pebbles cereal, so good!
