There is a new show in the DC area and it is electrifying! Cirque du Soleil’s Big Top returns to Washington, DC area with its newest Big Top production, VOLTA, performing at Tyson’s II through September 29! My family and I attended a show during opening weekend, and had the best time. I love that when we see a Cirque du Soleil show we know it will be fun for the whole family, and VOLTA definitely was!
About The Show
Energetic, urban and contemporary, VOLTA is a captivating voyage of discovery that showcases never-before-seen under the Big Top acrobatics in a visually striking world. Driven by a stirring melodic score and inspired in part by the adventurous spirit that fuels the culture of street sports, VOLTA is a story of transformation. It is about being true to oneself, fulfilling one’s true potential, and recognizing one’s own power to make it possible. Ultimate freedom comes with self-acceptance, and with the liberation of the judgement of others.
The show has a good story and positive message, which is great. Cirque always does a good job at leaving the audience wanting more. VOLTA has everything from traditional balancing acts and juggling to beautiful dance routines and insane bike tricks! My kids ages 7, 13, and 14 were totally enthralled. They could not stop laughing at the show’s clown. He was so funny and not at all scary FYI. VOLTA is a very entertaining show that is a must see! There really isn’t a bad seat, you can see the action from anywhere under the Big Top.
