I am living for Disney+ right now! The nostalgic content is incredible, but honestly the new shows are blowing me away. I think there is so much to dig into with the new content. I wanted to share my personal favorites with you!
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series
Just when I thought I’d have to live with rewatching my HSMTM DVDs forever, Disney surprised us all with this magic! I was a tad skeptical when I heard about this show, but once I saw it, I immediately fell in love. I got to screen the first episode on the Disney Lot, and it was just what I needed it to be. I love the premise of school kids of where the movie was shot, are now doing the play. It’s funny with good music and a sprinkle of teenage drama. The cast is delightful and their voices really do live up to the parts. We are only 3 episodes in, but my 15 year old daughter and I are obsessed!
Marvels Hero Project
Marvel is making real heroes out of inspiring everyday kids. This series is so needed and I think will be received in tears by everyone who watches it. Every week on Marvel’s Hero Project you will meet a new young hero making a difference in their communities and all over the world! I got to see the first episode while on the Disney Lot in California, and it was incredible! This show is sharing how everyday kids are using their disabilities and differences for good. Overcoming the odds and facing their fears head on. This show highlights how differences can be what makes us unique and amazing! I love the message kids will hear when they see this show.
The Mandalorian
If you are a Star Wars fan, there is no such thing as too much Star Wars. This series is so intriguing and entertaining. When you realize just what the bounty is in the first episode, how can you not watch more! “The Mandalorian” is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic. There is so much mystery and adventure, I am so here for it!
Encore
Kristen Bell is one of my favorite humans. She brings a light and energy to everything she does. Encore brings together former castmates of a high school musical, tasking them with re-creating their original performance in a high school reunion like no other. I love the stories that are captured and shared through this series. It is a ton of fun to watch!
The Imagineering Story
For all the real Disney die hard fans out there, this one’s for you! It is a six-part, six-hour docuseries that digs deep into the making of the major Disney theme parks and the attractions. I am obsessed with the back stories, behind the scenes clips, interviews and nostalgia overload. This series is my absolute favorite. It is on the weekly rollout schedule, which means it comes out on Fridays. It is worth the week long wait for each episode. From the first episode, sort of like an origin of Disneyland, you will feel butterflies and excitement as you bask in this history of Disney parks.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the amazing content Disney+ is delivering. If you have been on the fence about signing up, do it now and thank me later. There is only more magic to come with this streaming service. To infinity & beyond!
