Kids Opening Day
On Sunday, the Nationals invite the team’s youngest fans to help kick off the 2018 season. A variety of kid-friendly activities will be available before the start of the game, including face painters, caricature artists, and balloon twisters in the Family Picnic Area. In addition, all kids ages 4-12 will have the opportunity to run the bases after Sunday regular season home day games, weather permitting.
On Sunday we will also celebrate Screech’s Birthday! Mascots from across the D.C. area will be at Nationals Park for the birthday celebration, as Screech and his friends will perform various birthday-themed skits and participate in more fun events throughout the day.
Fidget Spinner Giveaway presented by the Potomac Nationals
Kids Opening Day will also include the first kids giveaway of the season, as one Sunday per month the Nationals will focus on their youngest fans with special promotions and entertainment. Sunday’s promotional item will be a Kids Fidget Spinner presented by the Potomac Nationals, given to the first 10,000 fans ages 12 and under (please see attached photo).
Youth Baseball and Softball Day presented by Inova Children’s Hospital
Before Sunday’s game we will also be celebrating Youth Baseball and Softball Day presented by Inova Children’s Hospital. The Nationals welcome all area teams and leagues to the 14th annual Youth Baseball & Softball Day and all fans who purchase a special ticket to Youth Sports Day will be invited to participate in a pregame parade around the warning track. The first 1,000 kids to arrive in line for the parade wearing their Little League jerseys will receive a set of Nationals eye black stickers, courtesy of Inova Children’s Hospital. The Washington Nationals encourage fans to bring the whole family to Nationals Park by taking advantage of the Harris Teeter Family Fun Pack. This family-friendly ticket package includes a free meal with each ticket purchased (kids-sized hot dog, 1 oz. bag of chips, and Coca-Cola or Dasani beverage) with tickets starting at just $20! The Harris Teeter Family Fun Pack is available for Kids Opening Day as well as all Friday, Saturday, and Sunday games at Nationals Park throughout the regular season.
