The Incredible family is back with an all new adventure, and you are going to want to see it! Fourteen years in the making and this long anticipated sequel does not disappoint! I watched The Incredibles 14 years ago with kids I was babysitting at the time. No kids of my own yet. Of course since having kids, they have seen The Incredibles many times, and we even had the pleasure of visiting them back in 2008 at Walt Disney World! Fast forward to 2018, we re-watched The Incredibles to prep for Incredibles 2!
I took my youngest two to the movie for an early screening, and they both gave it raving reviews! In Incredibles 2, we see the Incredible Family secretly trying to help the city even though Supers are not supposed to intervene anymore. They can’t help but want to change that. This leads to Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) starting a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) takes on the roll of stay at home Dad. I love this role reversal here. Helen is rocking the role of saving the day and helping bring back the Supers. We get to see her new Elasticycle, which is way cool. I loved the scene where she saves an ambassador mid helicopter flight… talk about girl power, mom for the win! Elastigirl is back and she means business!
Meanwhile at home Bob is helping Dash (voice of Huck Milner) with his math homework, which if you are a parent you totally know the struggle is real here! I love when Bob loses it when he is frustrated to find out math changes! Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), has a crush and beleive it or not her Dad embarasses her. Don’t worry Bob figures out a way to help Violet with her crush. We can’t forget Jack-Jack! This little baby is discovering his many powers and hilarity ensues! Of course, being the incredible Dad he is, Bob finds his rhythm and discovers how to best help his kids. Many laughable moments are strung throughout the movie, along with some awesome action with the Supers!
One of my favorite parts is when Bob takes Jack-Jack to see Edna Mode for help. This is such a funny and adorable scene. Edna is the best when it comes to protection and suits for the Supers. I laughed in every scene Jack-Jack was in. This “Cookie” clip is one of my favorites!
Once a new villian is on the scene, things become dangerous quickly, and suddenly the Parrs are in need of help! They don’t back down from a challenge and with the help of Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side, they can rise again!
Incredibles 2 is a perfect summer blockbuster film! Full of funny, silly, and action packed moments. You and your kids will enjoy this incredible sequel.
