I am so excited for what’s to come in 2021 for movies and tv! This feels like a reward! There are many long anticipated releases debuting, as well as some surprises! I have a complete list of Walt Disney Studios, Disney Plus, Marvel, Pixar, 20th Century, & Lucasfilm releases. Check it out and tell me what you are most excited for.

Everything Coming from Disney in 2021

WandaVision — January 15, 2021 (Marvel Studios/Disney+)

WandaVision is an upcoming American streaming television miniseries created for Disney+ by Jac Schaeffer, based on the Marvel Comics characters Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch and Vision. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise.

Pixar Popcorn — January 2021 (Pixar/Disney+)

Pixar Popcorn is an upcoming Pixar short series set to premiere on Disney+ and will include 8 episodes. 

Floria & Ulysses — February 19, 2021 (Disney+)

An imaginative and creative 10-year old cynic never could have predicted that her little squirrel would be born anew as a superhero and have the uncanny knack for helping her and the lovable but broken people in her life.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie — unset (20th Century/theatrical)

Feature film adaptation of the musical about a teenager from Sheffield, England who wants to be a drag queen.

Raya and the Last Dragon — March 5, 2021 (Disney Animation/theatrical and Disney+ with premier access)

Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when sinister monsters known as the Druun threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, those same monsters have returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the last dragon in order to finally stop the Druun for good. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than dragon magic to save the world—it’s going to take trust as well. From directors Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada, co-directors Paul Briggs and John Ripa, producers Osnat Shurer and Peter Del Vecho, and featuring the voices of Kelly Marie Tran as Raya and Awkwafina as Sisu. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Raya and the Last Dragon” will debut simultaneously on Disney+ Premier Access and in theatres on March 5, 2021.

The King’s Man — March 12, 2021 (20th Century/theatrical)

As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in The King’s Man. The Comic Book “The Secret Service” by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier — March 19, 2021 (Marvel Studios/Disney+)

Following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience—in Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.” The all-new series is directed by Kari Skogland; Malcolm Spellman is the head writer. Streaming exclusively on Disney+.

Bob’s Burgers — April 9, 2021 (20th Century/theatrical)

The further adventures of hamburger restaurateur Bob Belcher and his quirky family.

Ron’s Gone Wrong — April 23, 2021 (20th Century/theatrical)

A 11-year-old boy finds out that his robot buddy doesn’t quite work and goes to a world where walking, talking, digitally connected robots have best friends for children.

Black Widow – May 7, 2021 (Marvel Studios/theatrical)

Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow in Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller “Black Widow”—the first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour as Alexei aka The Red Guardian and Rachel Weisz as Melina. Directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige, “Black Widow” hits U.S. theaters on November 6, 2020.

Free Guy — May 21, 2021 (20th Century/theatrical)

A bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way… before it is too late.

Cruella — May 28, 2021 (Disney Live-Action/theatrical)

Cruella is an upcoming American live-action film which will be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. Based on the 1961 Disney animated feature film, 101 Dalmatians, the film serves as an origin story of Cruella De Vil.

Loki — May 2021 (Marvel Studios/Disney+)

Loki is an upcoming American streaming television miniseries created for Disney+ by Michael Waldron, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, sharing continuity with the films of the franchise.

Luca — June 18, 2021 (Pixar/theatrical)

Set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, Disney and Pixar’s original feature film “Luca” is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface.

Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings — July 9, 2021 (Marvel Studios/theatrical)

The original Marvel Comics Shang-Chi follows Shang, a half-Chinese, half-American superhero created by writer Steve Englehart and artist Jim Starlin. In the comics, Shang-Chi is a master of numerous unarmed and weaponry-based wushu styles, including the use of the gun, nunchaku, and jian. Shang-Chi first appeared in Special Marvel Edition #15 in 1973.

Jungle Cruise — July 30, 2021 (Disney Live-Action/theatrical)

Join fan favorites Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt for the adventure of a lifetime on Disney’s JUNGLE CRUISE, a rollicking thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton. Lily travels from London, England to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank’s questionable services to guide her downriver on La Quila—his ramshackle-but-charming boat. Lily is determined to uncover an ancient tree with unparalleled healing abilities—possessing the power to change the future of medicine. The Beatles: Get Back — August 27, 2021

Filmmaker Peter Jackson presents restored, never-before-seen footage of the Beatles during their recording sessions of the album “Let It Be.”

What If..? — Summer 2021 (Marvel Studios/Disney+)

What If…? is an upcoming animated American web television series based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name.

Dug Days — Fall 2021 (Pixar/Disney+)

The series will focus on Dug and Carl as they reside in Suburbia.

Death on the Nile — September 17, 2021 (20th Century/theatrical)

Detective Hercule Poirot investigates the murder of a young heiress aboard a cruise ship on the Nile River.

The Last Duel — October 15, 2021 (20th Century/theatrical)

A woman claims she’s been raped by her husband’s best friend, Jean de Carrouges. But when no one believes her accusation, her husband challenges his friend to a duel, the last legally sanctioned duel in the country’s history.

Eternals — November 5, 2021 (Marvel Studios/theatrical)

Marvel Studios’ Eternals features an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, the Deviants.

Encanto – November 24, 2021 (Disney Animation/theatrical)

Encanto will center on a Colombian girl who, in spite of coming from a magical family, lacks magical powers

West Side Story — December 10, 2021 (20th Century/theatrical)

Two teenagers from different ethnic backgrounds fall in love in 1950s New York City.

Ms. Marvel — Late 2021 (Marvel Studios/Disney+)

Kamala Khan is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by editors Sana Amanat and Stephen Wacker, writer G. Willow Wilson, and artists Adrian Alphona and Jamie McKelvie, Khan is Marvel’s first Muslim character to headline her own comic book.

Hawkeye — Late 2021 (Marvel Studios/Disney+)

Hawkeye is an upcoming American web television series, based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name. The series is a sequel to Avengers: Endgame. It is the sixth television series of Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The series is produced by Marvel Studios and will be released on Disney+.

Diary of a Whimpy Kid — 2021 (Disney+)

Night at the Museum — 2021 (Disney+)

The movie will center on the nervous and confidence-lacking Nick Daley, (the son of Ben Stiller’s character Larry Daley in the 20th Century Fox live-action trilogy), who is hesitant to follow in his father’s footsteps as the nightwatchman of a museum that comes to life at night.

The Book of Boba Fett – 2021 (Lucasfilm/Disney+)

The Book of Boba Fett is an upcoming American streaming television series created for Disney+. It is a spin-off from the Star Wars streaming series The Mandalorian featuring the bounty hunter Boba Fett. The series is produced by Lucasfilm, and exists alongside Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic

Star Wars: The Bad Batch — 2021 (Lucasfilm/Disney+)

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is an upcoming animated Star Wars series that acts as both a sequel and spin-off to Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The series will debut on Disney+ in 2021.

There are also some untitled releases scheduled in here as well. I will keep you updated on release info, first looks and interviews as they pop up. I think I am most excited for Cruella and Jungle Cruise! Both of these are nostalgic for me, so I can’t wait to see the full feature films. Here’s to a great year at the movies, even if it is still on the couch for some of us! 🙂
