Tickets are on sale now for the 19th annual Boo at the Zoo, sponsored by Mars Chocolate North America, a frightfully fun evening for the whole family, hosted by Friends of the National Zoo (FONZ). On October 20, 21, and 22, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., kids and adults alike will enjoy trick-or-treating in the wild setting of the Smithsonian’s National Zoo. My family and I attended this event last year, and it was so much fun! We can’t wait to go back!
Boo at the Zoo features more than 40 treat stations—mom and dad will enjoy craft beer and coffee treats—after-hours access to animal houses and exhibits, including the Elephant Community Center, Small Mammal House, Great Cats, and more. Kids will love grooving to the music on the entertainment stage with kids scary-oke. And, don’t miss the extreme pumpkin carving demonstrations! With your favorite chocolates, snacks, and souvenirs, Boo at the Zoo treat bags will be brimming with goodies by the end of the evening.
At this year’s event we will also offer a sensory “Take a Break” space in the Think Tank exhibit for guests with sensory processing disabilities who would like a quiet place to take break from the trick-or-treating events.
“Where else can you trick-or-treat and support wildlife?” said Lynn Mento, Executive Director of Friends of the National Zoo, “This is a magical community tradition. Enjoying a Halloween event with your friends and family while hearing the lions roar at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo really makes this such a special evening for kids and parents.”
General Admission tickets are $20 for FONZ members and $30 for non-members. Tickets are required for all attendees 2 years and older. Please note space is limited and the event sells out, so purchase tickets early.
