I had the privilege of attending the Inside Out All Access Event this past Tuesday night. If you are going to see 1 movie this summer with your family, make it this one!
First let me tell you how awesome of a job that Fathom Events does at putting fun events like this together! We felt so special wearing our exclusive lanyards all night 🙂 Not to mention sitting in
the comfiest recliners at Regal Cinemas. We felt like we were getting the star treatment, and we were, everyone in that theater was! Seeing a movie before it comes out is always fun, but getting exclusive gear to go with it is even better! Bravo to Fathom Events and Regal Cinemas! If you get a chance to attend a Fathom Event at a Regal Cinema, do! You will not regret it!
Now on to the movie… Anyone who knows me, knows I love, love, LOVE Disney-Pixar. I am a huge movie buff, too! My idea of date night is always the same, dinner and a movie 🙂 So I jumped at the chance to see Inside Out All Access, which included a tour of Pixar’s studios and Director’s Q&A. It was so cool to see the behind the scenes behind the scenes. It gave me even more appreciation for the film I was about to watch. Plus, I leanered some fun studio tidbits! I can officially tell you all Toy Story 4 is currently in the making! My son, who loves to draw, is dreaming of walking the Pixar halls one day as an artist.
Why should you see Inside Out this weekend? Because it will give you all the feels! Inside Out goes inside the mind of 11 year-old Riley who, like all of us, is guided by her emotions- Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust, and Sadness. The emotions live in head quarters, inside the mind, where they help Riley with everyday life. As Riley prepares to navigate a new city and attend a new school, her emotional headquarters becomes a flurry of activity. As Joy attempts to keep Riley feeling happy and positive about the move, other emotions like Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness make the transition a bit more complicated. The film’s voice cast features Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Bill Hader, Lewis Black and Mindy Kaling, and was directed by Pete Docter.
All of these emotions were so wonderfully portrayed throughout the movie. It was so believable to see an 11 year-old experience them. My favorite parts were how they also showed headquarters in the parents’ minds, and their emotions toward their daughter…perfection! A big reason why I love all Disney/Pixar films is exactly what Director Pete Docter shared in the Q&A that night, “We don’t make kid movies, we make movies for all of us to enjoy, for everyone in mind.” It shows. In all of their films, the humor, the realistic animation, the character interactions, and because they give you all the feels.
See Inside Out in theaters everywhere on June 19th!
I was provided with tickets for this event by Fathom Events in exchange for my honest opinion & review. All opinions are 100% my own.
