Tips & Tricks For Staying Organized This School Year

Let’s face it, we all like to make sure our kids’ first day or first few days are perfect. By perfect I mean lunches made, homework done, no one yelling, “I need my folder!” as you close the door, and no one eating a pop tart for breakfast. We like to start our kids off on a good note, but why not keep it there? Why not maintain the level of organization, planning, and readiness all year just as well as you do the first week. I have a few simple, relatively easy things you can do to make you and your child’s year run smoothly, like a well orchestrated machine! Check out these great ideas and the how-to thanks to some of my fellow bloggers 🙂

If you’re reading this, then you must be skeptical about essential oils just like I once was. Well, I’m glad you’re here because we have some things to straighten out. First, let me start by admitting this: I didn’t always sing the praises of essential oils. In fact, for a few years I was very skeptical for good reason. That’s because I was using essential oils without a whole lot of results happening. So what changed? I educated myself. So, I decided to compile a list of things that I did not know about essential oils before I started using them. Ready? Here we go.

Our Family Summer Spot!

Our family, as others say, is an adventurous one! We love going on day trips, familiar favorite spots, and of course, exploring new ones! This year we made the decision to get Gold Season Passes to Virginia’s premiere amusement part, Kings Dominion. It made the most sense for us to purchase the gold pass since we know we would want to come back again and again. [Read more…]

DIY Post-it Stand

This month at our MOPS meeting we made the cutest little note stands. They are so easy, cheap and versatile, you need one in your house and office! The idea is simple. We all need notes at any given moment, yet can never seem to find those sticky notes at that exact second in time. Having a decorative stand or two around will solve that problem.

Traveling With Kids aka “A Test On Patience”

As I prepared for our 8 day trip, the part I spent the most time planning, was the drive itself. Do I have everything I need for a peaceful, relaxing drive? Do I have the snacks, videos, treats, activity pads, wipes, more treats, more wipes, and headphones? Yes, that’s a list of my “must haves” x3! It always feels overwhelming to prepare for, but really, that’s just a portion of our 8 day vacation! Moms have their work cut out for them when it comes to planning a trip! I hear it over and over: “I need a vacation from my vacation!” So what are some things that you do to help smooth out that process? For me, it’s planning a good trip survival bag! I often include favorite toys, treats, and a few activities that they can use throughout our trip. [Read more…]
