Theme parks are a huge love of mine. I love the rush of a roller coasters, the smell of popcorn in the air, and the sights and sounds of giggling kids. I couldn not wait to visit Hersheypark and enjoy some much needed family fun. I wanted to share our experience on visiting Hersheypark during this strange time of 2020. Somethings are the same and some are very different. Here is what you can expect…
Candimonium
This is a brand new roller coaster and Hersheypark pulled out all the stops on this ride. It is pure joy! My daughter rode it, not knowing what to expect and she loved every second of it. Candymonium coaster is the tallest, fastest, longest, and sweetest coaster in Hersheypark®. It is a long ride and full of all kinds of tummy losing ups and downs.
Sweet Eats
I love theme park food and Hersheypark never disappoints. New this year is their mini donuts truck. They serve up hot and fresh mini donuts in a variety of flavors, including a fun flavor of the month. These were so soft and tasty. Just amazing! The perfect family treat.
There is always a delicious new King Size Shake to try. This time we had the Candymonium one, in honor of the new coaster. It is a chocolate shake topped with a chocolate cupcake, chocolate dipped pretzels, a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup and Hershey chocolate pieces. It is chocolate at it’s finest. This is also a great sharable treat!
Character Greetings
You can still find many characters at Hersheypark. They are spaced out and stand behind a rope. You need to use your own phone or purchase a picture from the professional photographer. No hugging or touching, but they interact in other creative ways. You can still get that special family photo or selfie.

-
Enhanced Team Member Training:
Our team members will undergo increased training on new protocols.
We took our temperature upon park entrance. It was quick and no big deal. They were very welcoming and prepared for guests. Masks are enforced unless eating or drinking. This was not an issues at all for us. We surprised the kids with Hershey masks and they were so excited to wear them. We took breaks as needed to sit, refresh, breath for a few moments maskless, and on we went. We were there for about 8 hrs. There are sanitizing stations all throughout the park. It was easy to stay clean and feel safe.

Should you visit Hersheypark in 2020?
Yes, 100 times yes! Hersheypark is very committed to their guest experience. I was pleasantly surprised at how normal it felt to be there. Yes you need to make a reservation and wear a mask, but the same old fun, rides and treats are there too! Wait times were down, and there are plenty of rides open and running. I loved the safety procedures they have in place, while keeping the theme park spirit alive and well. The other guests did not seem to not mind either. We felt safe and happy the entire time and I can’t wait to visit again this fall!
