Looking for a fun, active, and unique summer camp option? Then look no further than Woodland Horse Center! Woodland Horse Center is Maryland’s premier horse center for horseback riding enthusiasts of all levels. They offer riders a 25 acre estate of horse riding rings, stables and trails! This makes for the perfect spot to learn to ride, extend your expertise, or just have fun riding.
The Center has a complete program of equestrian activities for its students:
- adult and children’s lessons
- summer camps
- adult grooming program
- working student program
- tons of out-of-class activities boarding
- horse sales
- fully equipped Tack Shop
- while lessons are mainly English balance seat, western lessons are available for
adults only.
Our grooming and working student programs are for riders of all ages who want to learn more about grooming, tacking and working around a barn. Students in these programs earn extra riding time. Registration for summer camps are now open! Here is a highlight of the camps offered below-
Pony Pals Camp has been redesigned for maximum riding time and even more horse-related activities. This camp is geared toward all the youngsters who are being introduced to horses and horseback riding in Maryland (MD).

Daily Activities include:
- one daily lesson
- horsemanship lessons: daily care, horse safety, grooming, tacking, feeding, etc.

- Graduation Day show w/ refreshments starting at 2:00 PM
Campers bring their own bag lunch to enjoy under the shade trees.

Week 1: June 18 – 22
Week 2: June 25 – June 29
Week 3: July 2 – July 6 (July 4 is a half day)
Week 4: July 9 – 13
Week 5: July 16 – 20
Week 6: July 23 – 27
Week 7: July 30 – August 3
Week 8: August 6 – 10
Week 9: August 13 – 17COST: $450 per week, additional weeks $430 per week, Extended care $90 per week.
HOURS: 9 am – 4 pm; extended care available 8 am – 9 am and 4 pm – 6 pm.
Horsemanship Camp campers are placed into groups of 8 or less based on their riding abilities.
Beginners learn to walk, steer, trot—posting, sitting and half-seat, the basics of cantering and
going over poles and small jumps.Intermediate campers will work on position—balanced seat, cantering in groups, cantering poles,
jumping higher fences and riding in the field.Advanced campers will also work on position— cantering and hand galloping in groups, jumping
a course of larger fences, riding without stirrups and lateral movements.Weather permitting campers will experience trail riding as well.
All campers will groom and tack the horse they ride. Riders will learn the basics of good horse
health care.Those campers who have been in a more structured horse riding summer camp program will
improve on their skills and learn more difficult movements.Daily Activities include:
- 1 morning & 1 afternoon riding lesson
- horsemanship lessons: daily care, horse safety, grooming, tacking, feeding, etc.

Session 4: July 30 – August 10
Session 5: August 13 – August 24PLEASE NOTE: If you choose to do only the first week of a 2-week session with no additional weeks your cost is
$525 for the one week of camp.COST:
$900 per two-week session, any additional week $440 per week, Extended care $180 per TWO
