When in the Great Smoky Mountains, we just had stop at Dollywood! This was an absolute must for our family, and we are so glad we had the chance to visit this beautiful theme park. See my top 6 reasons to visit Dollywood with your family!
1.Thrill lovers unite! There are many fast roller coasters to take a ride on in Dollywood. My husband and my oldest made no mistake by scouting out these coasters and getting in line the first part of the day. They loved every one, but their favorite by far was the Wild Eagle! This is America’s First Wing Coaster that takes riders on a unique experience that feels as if they are actually soaring high above the Smoky Mountains!
2.So much fun for the little ones. Even though my youngest was not tall enough (nor interested) in the thrill rides, she still had plenty to choose from at Dollywood! She loved rides like the Scrambler, the Village Carousel, and the Rockin Roadway! Dollywood has rides for all thrill levels.
3.World class entertainment right here in Pigeon Forge, TN! The shows we took in were spectacular! The talent that goes into making these productions are far from basic. These are over the top, award winning performances. We saw the Country Crossroads & Dreamland Drive-In shows, and both were fantastic!
4.The food! Of course, you have your traditional theme park food like corndogs and cotton candy. At Dollywood, you can also indulge in an all you can eat southern style buffets! Nothing like a home cooked Southern meal!
5.The old school country and 50’s feel! This was my favorite area of the park! It is right outside of the Drive-In Theater and full of nostalgic fun. Old school cars, decor, and even a soda shop. My kids though this was pretty cool, too!
6.Seasonal events held throughout the year. We were not there for a special event, but Dollywood sure knows how to celebrate the holidays. We would love to come back during another season to explore more!
