Anyone who knows our family knows that we are a Disney family. Any chance we get to experience the Mouse and his friends, we take it! I was thrilled to be invited to Disney On Ice presents Treasure Trove, Presented by Stonyfield YoKids Organic Yogurt! My husband and I kept it a surprise until we walked into the Verizon Center that night. To see our kids’ faces light up was worth keeping the secret 🙂 All three of them began smiling ear to ear and giggling with delight. Before the show even started, it was a hit!
Cue Mickey, Minnie, Goofey, Donald and a Treasure Chest. The chest was full of magical items that reminded them of their friends, a perfect segway to each story. Disney On Ice presents Treasure Trove is really great for all ages. You get tangled up with Rapunzel and Flynn and enter the worlds of your other favorite Disney princesses –Tiana, Cinderella, Jasmine, Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Mulan and of course, the one who started it all, Snow White. Ahoy, Mateys! Set sail with Peter Pan, the always sassy Tinker Bell and the cantankerous Captain Hook and his pirate pals on an adventure beyond Never Land! Trek the wilds of Africa with Simba, Nala, Pumbaa and Timon as they discover the true meaning of the ‘Circle of Life.’ Tick-Tock! Tick-Tock! Don’t be late to a very important date with Alice and the Mad Hatter as they march with the Queen of Hearts’ Army of Cards. Set a playdate with Woody and Buzz Lightyear because the toys are back in town.
My kids are ages 4, 9, and 11. All three of them were completely intrigued throughout the show. My son particularly loved the Peter Pan and Captain Hook story. The silliness of the pirates, the adventerous Peter, and the clock ticking…what’s not to love? At one point the audience joined in, clapping the sound the clock makes-tick-tock, tick-tock! My son loved that part! Both of my girls loved seeing the princesses and their princes. When the Tangled story was happening, there was even lanterns in the sky, just like in the movie. One of the coolest parts for me was when the Queen of Hearts card soilders came out, two sided and in perfect numerical order the whole routine! Disney really pulls out all the stops to immerse you in to each story being told!
Disney On Ice presents Treasure Trove is currently showing at the Verizon Center from February 10-15 2016. Trust me, if this show ever skates through a city near you, moms and dads, boys and girls alike will surely love this magical show!
