Looking for a way to spice up your date night? Why not give cooking classes a try! You do not have to do the same old thing over and over. Try something new and learn a few new cooking skills while you are at it. My husband and I recently took a class at Sur La Table at their Pike & Rose location. I was not sure what to expect since we have never done this type of thing before. Not a chef or clueless in the kitchen? No worries. These classes are fun and for all levels of kitchen knowledge.
We signed up for the Dining Al Fresco Date Night. On the website you will see a selection of classes to choose from, along with the menu description. We arrived and checked in, then we were told to wash up and put on our aprons. The instructor was so friendly and welcoming, and made sure everyone was comfortable and knew what they were doing. She gave us step by step instructions while creating our meal. In the class you work alongside other classmates, learning to transform fresh ingredients into an assortment of dishes perfect for enjoying under the sun or stars. Our instructor showed us everything from perfectly grilling chicken to creating a creamy risotto. This sounded way more difficult than it was to do. Once we were in the kitchen with the instructor and hands on, it all went very smoothly. We finished the night with a fruity sorbet accented with fresh basil.
Overall it was a really neat date night. We learned a few things, and enjoyed a delicious meal we created together.

- Hands-on classes are limited to 16 students
- You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class
