My family and I had to take advantage of this beautiful fall weekend and partake in some good ol’ fashion fall fun! Great Country Farms is a great place full of family fun activities. There are a variety of things to do, like apple picking, playgrounds and pig races, just to name a few 🙂
The farm itself is located in the beautiful hillsides of Bluemont Virginia. The drive was filled with pretty trees, changing colors and country landscapes. Fall in its full glory. I love that the farm has trees throughout, providing a lot of shade and picnic spots. The kids had so much fun running from place to place. There really is so much to do. There is something for all ages- play structures for the little ones, bigger climbing structures for the big kids, slides, and pig races for the whole family to do together. You can even take a hayride out to pick apples or pumpkins, too!

Great Country Farms has an on-site restaurant named the Roosteraunt that serves food such as hot dogs, fries, and burgers. They also have The Farm Market, where you can purchase local farm goods and the farm’s famous cider donuts. If you plan to go during the fall festival weekends, I would suggest packing a lunch, as we did wait a long time for 4 hot dogs (and we did not get to try the cider donuts.) We didn’t mind the wait, so we decided to eat there. If you have small children, you can pack your own lunch or have someone wait in line while you do another activity with the kids. They have plenty of picnic tables and shady spots!
Great Country Farms Fall Festival is open daily from 9am-6pm. Admission is $8/child & $10/adult weekdays; $10/child & $12/Adult. Check out the full list of activities included with admission.

Our family loved the live music and laid-back atmosphere. It is a wonderful day getaway out in the country, blue skies, and a cozy southern feel. We really enjoyed our day at Great Country Farms!
