This year Kings Dominion has all kinds of fun to offer. Whether you have younger children or teens, there is something for everyone! I have a 4, 9, and 11 year old and all three kids had a ride they absolutely HAD to go on over and over. We were invited to check out the Spring Bloom Festival and we had a wonderful day!
One of the things that I love most about the park is the park grounds! Kings Dominion does a beautiful job keeping the park clean and well kept. I love just as much as my kids to see our favorite Peanuts Characters in the form of giant shrubs! During the Spring Bloom Festival, the beauty of the park really stands out.
The third-annual Spring Bloom Festival is back and blossoming more than ever! This event takes place Saturdays and Sundays, April 16 through May 15. You can experience internationally inspired cuisine, children’s crafts, live entertainment and more! We loved the petting zoo and crafts in Planet Snoopy the day we went. Okay, back to the rides… there really is something for everyone to get excited about. Planet Snoopy is well equipped with rides to keep your little ones entertained. Join Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus and Lucy as you experience Planet Snoopy! The kids area features an elaborate collection of PEANUTS-themed rides and attractions for every age including roller coasters, live shows, gift shop and meet-and-greet opportunities with your favorite pals from PEANUTS TV shows and comic strips. These make for adorable photo ops (see my proof below!). Of course, no Kings Dominion trip is complete without a Snoopy sighting 🙂 The rides are all a big hit for my little one. My 4 year old loves riding Lucy’s Tugboat and The Great Pumpkin Coaster over, and over, and over again.
Kings Dominion does not hold back on delivering a good time when it comes to Thrill rides! The adventurers in our family, my husband and our 11 year old, loved the Delirium. They said it was so fun, and I could totally tell by the shear happiness spread across their faces! It was a bit scary to watch from down below, but they assured me it was the BEST RIDE EVER! The Delirium is a powerful, spinning pendulum on which 40 riders are strapped into their seats, facing outward on a giant ring. As their feet dangle, they begin slowly swinging back and forth while the ring starts to rotate. The ride quickly gains momentum and before they know it, riders are getting swirling views of the park. On Delirium, guests soar to a height of 115 feet at a maximum arc angle of 120 degrees. Other Thrill ride favorites are the Berserker. Board this giant Viking ship for an exciting adventure as you swing forward and then backward, and then finally going over the top. My 9 year old also rode this one like a champ 🙂 The absolute must-ride roller-coaster has to be the Intimidator 360. Challenge the tallest, fastest and most thrilling roller coaster on the East Coast. The 300-tall first drop and high-speed twists and turns deliver a thrilling experience you will remember for a long, long time. The best part about these thrill rides is their comfortability. Yes they may be fast, daring, and make you lose your tummy. But the rides are so smooth and well deigned. Ride on!
We also enjoy the great mix of family rides at the park. If speed and adventure aren’t for you, the Carousel, Blue Ridge Tollway, Dodgem, Boo Blasters on Boo Hill, Scrambler, Shenandoah Lumber Company and Wave Swinger will be perfect. There’s also the Flying Eagles and Woodstock Express. We love to ride rides as a family!
Be sure to check out the Plan a Visit section before you go! With so much fun to be had this 2016 park season, we can’t wait to go back again. Ride on!
I was provided with complimentary tickets in exchange for my review. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
