In our house we celebrate Valentine’s Day as a family and Valentine’s Night just me and my husband. We show love and kindness to each other all year round, but it is always fun to make things extra special on holidays in our house! We usually exchange valentines, say why we love each other, and of course enjoy some festive treats 🙂 Here are some of my favorite ways to share Valentines Day with my kids:
Love Notes
You can use sticky notes or cut out hearts (I used my Cricut to cut out heart shapes). I write one thing I love about my each of my children every day for 14 days. It makes them grin from ear to ear! They love to hear what I come up with every day. What a great way to boost and encourage the things we love about our children.
Lunch Box Notes
There are so many resources for this one. My kids love reading jokes at lunch and knowing I took a moment of my time to put a little note in their lunch box. It makes them smile even while they’re at school.
Our Valentine’s for 2016
I have three kids, all with their own fun personality. It is always a blast to sit down and make Valentine’s. No matter how old, I think I will always enjoy it. We are doing pretty simple ones this year involving popcorn and tin cans, Star Wars, and candy buttons (not altogether, of course)!
My daughter found these adorable popcorn cans on Our Best Bites. She is in JR high and has a smaller class than usual. These are cheap but can be time consuming. Luckily for me, I can now just supervise and help her as needed. She loves crafts, and she can pretty much do these on her own!
My son chose Star Wars of course! We used these cute printable ones from Over The Big Moon. I found lightsaber pencils at the dollar section in target. We are adding those to the back of each valentine.
Finally, we are doing candy buttons (bought from Five Below) and attaching these adorable “cute as a button” tags from Love The Day. My youngest is not in school yet, so these will be for her little group of friends. Fun and very easy!
