Comedian/musician Shayna Ferm and her sidekick, MC Doula (aka Tracey Tee), are the creators and hosts of The Pump and Dump Show- A Parentally Incorrect Show and Night Out For Once. You are in for a night of comedy, music, games, prizes, and more! Live musical performances are spread throughout the evening with fun, all too real, totally relatable songs. Audience participation is most definitely encouraged 🙂 Coming to The Arlington Draft House on October 1st, this is a show you won’t want to miss!
Conceived (pun intended) in Denver, Colorado in 2012, this show will make you laugh your c-section scar open. Shayna and Tracey are currently on their 2015 national tour of the Pump and Dump show, sponsored by The Bump, titled “The Bump Pump and Dump Validation Tour.” They are also twice-monthly contributors to TheBump.com, and have been featured in Parents magazine, HuffPost Parents and Scary Mommy.
I had the privilege of asking the ladies a few fun questions. Check out my interview below.
What do you look forward to the most when you leave town for work?
Meeting new moms and making them laugh, and then we REALLY look forward to coming home.
What is the hardest part of being a working mom?
The work/life balance struggle is very real – – and because we both work from home it’s hard to have to tell your kid that you can’t play legos right this second because mommy has to work. No one ever wants to feel like they’re putting their kids on the back burner, so navigating that part is always hard. But, we’re also proud of what we do and we try to talk to our kids about it as much as possible. We take them to site visits and let them walk around the stage when we can, and we try to explain that we get to make people laugh for our job and that’s a good thing.
What is your ideal date night?
A really long, highly caloric, well cooked meal at a new restaurant, great wine and then to bed by 10pm with the kids staying over at their grandparent’s house.
What is your favorite tv show?
Shay: Currently, Ink Master. All time favorite: X Files
Doula: Currently, Empire and Sherlock All time favorite: Malcolm in the Middle
What is your favorite midnight snack?
Shay: any kind of cheese
Doula: any kind of carb
…and when we’re on the road…burgers & fries or fried pickles after a show 🙂
