This year Kings Dominion has all kinds of fun to offer. Whether you have younger children or teens, there is something for everyone! I have a 4, 9, and 11 year old and all three kids had a ride they absolutely HAD to go on over and over. We were invited to check out the Spring Bloom Festival and we had a wonderful day!
A reimagining of Disney’s cherished family film, “Pete’s Dragon” is the adventure of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliott, who just so happens to be a dragon. Did you catch the trailer premier debut? Don’t worry, I got it right here!
Anyone who knows our family knows that we are a Disney family. Any chance we get to experience the Mouse and his friends, we take it! I was thrilled to be invited to Disney On Ice presents Treasure Trove, Presented by Stonyfield YoKids Organic Yogurt! My husband and I kept it a surprise until we walked into the Verizon Center that night. To see our kids’ faces light up was worth keeping the secret 🙂 All three of them began smiling ear to ear and giggling with delight. Before the show even started, it was a hit!
The Good Dinosaur asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation takes you on this wild journey, and no one does it like Pixar!

Last weekend we took our kids to our local amusement park. Nothing new, we go almost every other weekend. We love riding rides, seeing shows, and enjoying the beautiful Virginia summer. What made this trip different was my middle child, my most cautious child, decided he would brave a roller coaster! My first thought was ok sure, not thinking he would actually go through with it. Little did I know he meant what he said.
A few weekends ago my husband and I had a chance to get away. Thanks to the grandparents, we were able to go kid free! Which, in parent terms, means “You are going to have a restful, relaxing, and enjoyable weekend!” Woo hoo! Spending a few days uninterrupted alone with my husband reminded me all the more of the wonderful partner I chose. It reminded me of how much I really do love my children. It definitely reminded me that I love eating at a restaurant where they don’t even have crayons in the building! Soaking up the sun, listening… Read More
I had the privilege of attending the Inside Out All Access Event this past Tuesday night. If you are going to see 1 movie this summer with your family, make it this one! First let me tell you how awesome of a job that Fathom Events does at putting fun events like this together! We felt so special wearing our exclusive lanyards all night 🙂 Not to mention sitting in the comfiest recliners at Regal Cinemas. We felt like we were getting the star treatment, and we were, everyone in that theater was! Seeing a movie before it comes out is always fun,… Read More
The other day after school, I told the boys we could stay at the playground for a little while. My three year-old, Jude, had brought his basketball and my six year-old, Daniel, had recently mastered the monkey bars and wanted to show off his new skills. As we rounded the corner of the building and glimpsed the playground, we realized there must have been some sort of after-school program going on; the place was swarming with kids. My first thought was, “Oh man, we should probably just go home. Look at ALL of these people.”
