Mrs. Fields recently sent me a wonderful package to help me get inspired to share my hero! I was thrilled to do so! Heroes are all around us. I love any opportunity to highlight the everyday heroes in my life, from stay at home moms to teachers to special needs parents. To me, if you are taking the time to influence a child in any way, shape, or form, that makes you a hero in my book! Yes, YOU!
One of my heroes is my son’s special education teacher, Ms. Libby. This woman has dedicated her life to finding out what children are not getting in the classroom and delivering it to them in a smaller setting. This has made a tremendous difference in my son’s academic and social life. He no longer feels like a failure, but now feels as though he can do anything, as all children should. It was Albert Enistein who said, “Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” How incredibly true! Not all children learn the same way, and not all children are good at the same things. I am so grateful my child has a teacher who completely understands this. My son was very excited to share a cookie with his hero!
Heroes (like cookies) come in all shapes and sizes. Mrs. Fields is searching for America’s Hometown Hero to donate $5,000 to a charity of their choosing, plus an honorary Hometown Hero event. Sharing your hero is easy – especially since there’s no line at this poll! Everyone who shares their hero will receive a coupon for $1 off a box of Mrs. Fields® cookies. You can submit your entry by clicking here. Who is your Hometown Hero? I’d love to hear about the amazing everyday heroes in your life!
