My family and I had a really fun evening last week when we attended MONSTER JAM® Triple Threat Series™, have never been to a Monster Jam show, so this was a new and exciting experience for us. My son was especially thrilled, but both of my daughters were excited too!
Approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, Monster Jam trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, MONSTER JAM trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. MONSTER JAM trucks can fly up to125 to 130 feet in distance and up to 35 feet in the air. Needless to say there was not a dull moment! From start to finish the show was action packed and full of excitement.
I would suggest bringing ear plugs with you if you or your child is sensitive to loud noises. They do sell them there if you forget, which is helpful. It was very loud, but after the first 15 minutes, our family was accustomed to the noise. It is good to know that it is not only the big Monster Trucks the whole time. They also race ATV’s and Speedsters, which all match the drivers’ Monster Trucks! All in all, it was a really cool experience. I loved seeing the girls represent, too! There were two female drivers and they were amazing! My girls would go crazy each time it was their turn!
The AMSOIL series can only be seen in select cities across the country and features the most extreme athletes of MONSTER JAM. In Washington D.C. we had the privilege of seeing Grave Digger, El Toro Loco, Pirate’s Curse, Shark, Alien Invasion, Zombie, Monster Mutt Rottweiler, & Blue Thunder! I think my personal favorite was Zombie, because her pump song was Thriller!
