The Capital Wheel

My family and I love the National Harbor. It is a frequent hangout spot for us. There are so many great shops and restaurants at the Harbor and one wheely cool attraction 🙂 This past weekend my family and I ventured up into the 180′ tall wheel that takes residence at the National Harbor and took in the breathtaking view! It is a must see for the whole family. You feel as though you are slowly gliding through the air, round and round as you take in the sights. From the wheel you can see the Washington Monument, U.S. Capitol, Alexandria, Prince George’s County, and of course the magnificent harbor. My kids were pointing out all the cool things they noticed during our ride.

Loosening The Reins

Last weekend we took our kids to our local amusement park. Nothing new, we go almost every other weekend. We love riding rides, seeing shows, and enjoying the beautiful Virginia summer. What made this trip different was my middle child, my most cautious child, decided he would brave a roller coaster! My first thought was ok sure, not thinking he would actually go through with it. Little did I know he meant what he said.

Date Night~ Why I Will Always Make Time For It

A few weekends ago my husband and I had a chance to get away. Thanks to the grandparents, we were able to go kid free! Which, in parent terms, means “You are going to have a restful, relaxing, and enjoyable weekend!” Woo hoo!

Spending a few days uninterrupted alone with my husband reminded me all the more of the wonderful partner I chose. It reminded me of how much I really do love my children. It definitely reminded me that I love eating at a restaurant where they don’t even have crayons in the building! Soaking up the sun, listening to the wind, and drinking wine. I get relaxed just typing it. It is amazing how just taking time to stop and step away from the every day business really does do so much for your soul, or souls 🙂

Peter Pan 360~ A Must See Show!

Last night my family and I entered the big white tent that currently resides at Tyson’s Corner Center. We quickly discovered this is not your average play, or circus tent for that matter. This spectacular show takes place in a 360 tent with an automated set and computer generated imagery. It is like a live action 3D show! To say my family and I were blown away is an understatement.
