It may not feel like it here in Northern Virginia, but the winter season is in fact upon us! Nothing says winter to me more than lacing up a pair of ice skates. I grew up skating, watching hockey games, and I am so glad to share this fun with a family of my own now. The Tysons Corner Center Ice Rink is the place to go for a wonderful ice skating experience that the whole family can enjoy!
The Tysons Corner Center Ice Rink is located on the plaza between Lord & Taylor and Hyatt Regency. The Skate Shop is located inside on the 2nd floor next to Lord & Taylor. It is a pretty smooth process to get your skates at the Skate Shop. Once you pay, get your wristband, you then get your skates and are ready to go. You can skate as long as you’d like. The rink is smooth and regularly cleaned to ensure a nice and slick skating experience. The staff is very friendly, polite and willing to help. I loved that they had kid walkers for the little ones who are not as stable on their feet. The toddler sizes are also double bladed for extra balance and support.
Be sure to bring your hats and gloves, but they do have some available for purchase if needed. We also brought some snacks for the kids to have when they were ready to take a break. Starbucks is conveniently located just inside the mall doors if you should require a hot beverage 🙂
The atmosphere is amazing with music playing, a big beautiful tree in the background, and everyone around you is laughing and making memories. The plaza also has a kids playground just a few feet away from the rink, as well as enclosed gas fire pits with cozy benches when you need to warm up. My husband and my three kids ages 4, 9, and 11, all had so much fun! The kids did not want to leave! This is a great family friendly activity. Whether young or old, beginner or expert, The Tysons Corner Center Ice Rink is sure to be a hit!
